Hey Jason,
This is near to my heart. Yes, our mission is to re-present Christ into his his creation. We imitate Christ so that the world can see the Father. You are so right to say that this is our vocation as individuals and as the Church.

Hi Grace. As I've been thinking about the incarnational life as it develops through the narrative of Scripture from creation to new creation, it seems to me that the three interconnected and interacting emphases of spiritual formation, community and mission are what give "incarnational" its proper meaning. I'm hoping to unpack this in a future post(s), but here's what I'm thinking in a nutshell. If our vocation as human beings is to image-bear/embody/incarnate God's presence on earth, then we accomplish this vocation by simultaneously being formed into God's image, living in authentic interdependent community and participating in God's mission for creation by being God's vice-regents and creation's stewards. These elements seem to exist and develop in the creation story, Abraham's and Israel's call, Jesus' ministry, the church's vocation and finally in slight glimpses of the new creation.

Very good! I am soaking in and pondering these ideas.

I am interested in how you have gone beyond incarnation to the idea of delegated authority and stewardship necessary for participation in reconciling all things, but then back to the necessity of our transformation in order to embody His life as we participate in God's mission of reconciliation.

Great thinking and writing. Thanks!
